Senior Jacoby Underwood has taken a liking to the fast food business of McDonald’s due to receiving many McDonald’s gift cards given to him for Christmas allowing him to increase his collection of gift cards.
“It started about December of last year, my grandma started giving me McDonald’s gift cards in my mail because she would send me Christmas cards and they would always contain a McDonald’s gift card,” Underwood said. “She would also give my dad McDonald’s gift cards so I would suddenly receive many McDonald’s gift cards at the holidays… instead of money.”
Other than just going out to eat, Underwood hangs out at McDonald’s with friends and also gets to enjoy his time with the community of McDonald’s.
“I just feel like the people in McDonald’s, they’re really fun people,” Underwood said. “The feeling of eating McDonald’s is just… kind of depressing, but it’s the feeling of McDonald’s, you go there, you’re going to get a cheap burger sometimes and it’s a good feeling.”
Underwood obviously uses the McDonald’s rewards app to get deals on the McDonald’s food, but to him one McDonald’s app wasn’t enough.
“I like to use the deal sometimes to get a good percentage off because McDonald’s is already raising in price, so if you want free large fries with your chicken nuggets… you can do that,” Underwood said. “Also I think if you download more than one McDonald’s app, it’s good because you get to use multiple coupons, so download some from Brazil.”
With a huge liking for McDonald’s comes a huge hatred for another fast food restaurant under the name of Carl’s Jr.
“I hate Carl’s Jr… for a lot of reasons, but mainly, Carl’s Jr is inferior to McDonald’s,” Underwood said. “They say they have charbroiled burgers, but no one even knows what that means and so I think McDonald’s is better. They’re up front, everyone knows it’s bad so at least they’re honest about it… but yeah no Carl’s Jr.”
