Yesterday, Roseville High School’s guitar class held their prominent guitar show in the Patti Baker Theater followed by excellent performances and a huge audience. Junior Diego Ramirez Diaz felt proud of the turnout and his peers.
“It was great you know, beforehand it was all really nerve racking but everyone was excited to show off what we could do, and we’ve been working for months and months, tirelessly practicing in groups, but yeah it all it all came together in the end and we’re really happy about how it went,” Ramirez Diaz said.
Guitar teacher David Albertson was extremely satisfied with his students’ perseverance and production in the show.
“Everyone played their songs and had fun, transitions were smooth, it was a pretty packed house, and I even got a chance to play myself, so that’s always a good time,” Albertson said. “I think it’s always fun to see the students be creative, the closing song tonight was two Deftones songs put together, and seeing that group of students who have been working on this for so long and really have fun and enjoy it, always makes me happy to see.”
“I’m definitely planning on playing in the next guitar shows, as many as I can really. I’m definitely excited to show off more of what I can do,” Ramirez Diaz said.
At the end of the show, the guitar class showed their gratitude to their teacher along with a gift for all of his hard work and dedication.
“As a teacher you always strive to make a difference in people’s lives and you want the students to enjoy what they’re doing and feel like it was worthwhile,” Albertson said. “That gift of their kind words and obviously the guitar showing that they care about what I’m doing here, it’s touching. If you guys enjoy the show, if you saw videos online, we do this all the time here in guitar class, sign up for commercial music, my new class in case you play drums, guitar, base, or you just want to learn to DJ, if you’re interested in music, sign up for my classes.
