RHS Guitar teacher, David Albertson, has pursued his passion for music in and outside of school. He frequently has the opportunity to perform what he teaches his students, in front of crowds at restaurants or other places around town.
“I enjoy getting to practice and perform all the things I teach my students. I perform regularly at Fleming’s Steak House and The Kimpton Sawyer Hotel in Sacramento. Hence, I get to explore the things that I teach and share my talent with the world”, Albertson said.
Not only does Albertson play locally, but he also expands his horizons to places like Portugal, which allows him to reach his family and different crowds.
“I have family in Portugal, and I play in Portugal often, and I play wherever the road takes me”, Albertson said.
After half a decade as a musician, Albertson wanted to expand his opportunities and started DJing for various events, aiming to bring light to crowds of people.
“I started DJ-ing for weddings and events after being a musician professionally for about 5-6 years, realizing I was missing a whole market of people I could be reaching, and that it’s a lot of fun to see people dance and be a part of an event”, Albertson said.
He enjoys this hobby as it helps him explore new genres of music, as well as participating in and making events more lively.
“I love it and I play it for weddings around town, and getting to learn new songs I’ve never played.”
