Allison Warr is a new English teacher at RHS who lives on a farm with her family in Auburn. Warr enjoys her lifestyle on the farm, as well as the chores that her and her family get to do.
“My favorite hobby to do on the farm is to do chores with my family, growing different types of plants, we try to raise our own food, we have cows, and chickens.” Warr said. “Eating healthy is very important to us. Growing local and seasonal vegetables instead of going to the farmers market.”
Warr lives on the farm with her husband and her kids. Her and her family, not having any experience on the farm, has made living at the house a unique learning experience from the time they have been living there.
“We have been at our farm for 5 years, before that we lived in a smaller lot.” Warr said. “My husband and I…neither of us both grew up on property, so it’s something we wanted to do for our own kids, so we’re learning as we go.”
Being a new teacher on campus brings some difficulties, however Warr has loved the amount of support she has gotten from everybody on campus, and has enjoyed her time at RHS so far.
“I feel really welcome” Warr said. “The staff here is amazing, I have a lot of people I can go to for advice.”
