Ashlyn Bagley, a sophomore, joined the stunt team for the first time this year and has already made a major impact. With her background in gymnastics, she brings valuable experience and skill, helping elevate the team’s performance and contributing to their success.
After previously fracturing her back, Bagley took a short break from the sport she loves. Despite the setback, she was able to bounce back and quickly become an important part of the team.
“It’s a really good environment, so it was a good transition,” Bagley said.
Her teammates have noticed the difference she’s made, especially in tumbling.
“I think all her tumbling passes have given us a lot of points and are why we do so well in tumbling this year,” Chaney said. “She has ‘stucky’ feet, and she has a lot of good technique.”
After considering joining the stunt team for some time, Bagley was encouraged by her peers, who recognized her talent and pushed her to take the leap.
“We told her that it was really fun, and she is really good, so it helps the team,” Vath said.
Bagley’s prior experience allows her to quickly understand skills without needing to relearn fundamentals, giving the team an advantage.
“One of the hardest tumblings is a full, and she has it. Now we can do our hardest routine without any modifications, and that helps a lot,” Vath added.
Thanks to the team’s welcoming environment, Bagley plans to continue with stunt and further contribute to their success.
“She really enjoys it and is now trying out for sideline too,” Vath said.
