Senior Vincent Ragnone has found a passion in collecting and repairing cars since his freshman year.
“I started collecting cars during freshman year, I guess that’s when I really got into it. That’s when I purchased both of my classic cars in my freshman year,” Ragnone said.
Vincent got interested in collecting cars through his family as well as their passion for cars.
“I would say my family, cause I always grew up around cars. That’s what got my foot in the door, I would say,” Ragnone said.
He has two cars, one being a Plymouth Cuda and the other being an AMX Javelin.
“Now I have a 1970 Plymouth Cuda, it’s a 440 golden ticket car, so it has like everything on it. And then I have a 1971 Javelin AMX,” Ragnone said.
His dream car is a Lamborghini however Vincent did say he wanted to look and get into more foreign cars outside of America.
“Like a Lambo is always nice, I also wanna get into other types of cars than just American cars,” Ragnone said.
One of the things he does is bring his cars to car shows, even winning some of the competitions.
“Take them to shows, race them, or just drive them around. I went to the Brunel car show in late 2022. It was a huge car show, it was on the base on the tar mat. And I won in the muscle category against mustangs, Camaros, and other types of cars,” Ragnone said.
He spent a lot of money repairing both his cars and making them work, he had more fun repairing the Plymouth than the Javelin due to it being more complex.
“Probably upwards of 20 grand between both of them. I definitely enjoyed the Cuda more, it’s just better. It’s way faster, more rare, more expensive, definitely the Cuda,” Ragnone said.
He does recommend the hobby to anyone who has the budget for it.
“It’s a pretty expensive hobby, but I’d definitely recommend it. If you got the budget, might as well,” Ragnone said.
