Sophomore Sebastian Zamora works with his dad at his restaurant, Reunion Underground and Grill, in Old Town, Sacramento where he runs and performs karaoke and serves food.
“I think that it’s, it’s high energy. You know, you know, the place gets poppin’ a lot of the time. Every night,” Zamora said.
Working at Reunion, Zamora serves a lot of different dishes inspired by ethnic cuisines and is preparing for one of their next big events.
“We serve a lot of street food, like burgers, tacos, you know, Mexican to American food, all that good stuff. Happy New Year, New Year is always like a big thing, especially with bars and restaurants, so we go all out. You know, it’s the most packed during that time,” Zamora said.
Zamora’s favorite part of his job is the customers and their reactions. While working at Reunion, he learned that a player for the Sacramento Kings once owned the place.
“While running the karaoke, to me it just makes me feel good. You know, see people have fun, singing songs, and, you know, just doing their thing. He got into legal trouble, so he had to let go of the restaurant, and then we took over,” Zamora said.
