As Roseville High School fades into winter break, I can assume that many of you will need places where you and your family can get a nice sit-down breakfast. Well, you’re in luck! Here are my top 3 breakfast places in Roseville based on taste, environment, and overall enjoyment.
There are so many great places around our area that I can’t include, (such as MoJoe’s, Awful Annies, and others) because they fall out of the boundary, and are a little far. But those two I also totally recommend if you are willing to make the drive.
Four Sisters Cafe
For the number three spot on this list, I’m gonna go with Four Sisters Cafe (9050 Fairway Dr.) I found this place a year or two ago while I was looking for new coffee shops, and it honestly surprised me. I’ve only been here a few times, but the food is definitely solid.
My go-to order is either the pancakes or the breakfast burrito. I typically judge breakfast places by how good their breakfast burritos are, because they’re my favorite food. This place passes the test with flying colors.
Waffle Barn
For number two, we have Waffle Barn (1050 Pleasant Grove Blvd.) This is not only for the nostalgia, because I went there many times as a child, but they make some great waffles. As a little kid, I remember getting hot chocolate and a waffle, and today I just get good memories every time I drive past.
It’s just a nice place to go to after church or with grandparents. I have had no bad experiences there; it’s not outstanding, but there’s definitely a reason it’s been there for so long. I understand if this might not be a favorite among the general people of Roseville nowadays, but I don’t really care. Waffle Barn holds a special place in my heart.
Mario’s Early Toast
Finally, for my number one, my favorite breakfast place to go in Roseville, I’m gonna pick Mario’s Early Toast (1950 Douglas Boulevard.) This place not only has some of the best breakfast potatoes I have ever had, but some of the best portions of any restaurant.
My go-to orders are either French toast, Crepes, or the Acai Bowl. There is also some outstanding Mexican food, my favorite being the Chilaquiles Del Chef, (Two eggs, sautéed crispy corn tortillas, roasted tomatillo green salsa, melted cheese, sour cream, and avocado with Carne Asada and green onions, and a side of Spanish rice and beans). If you haven’t tried this place, you’re missing out big time. And yes, their breakfast burritos are totally gas.
Now, I understand I’m missing some places, and I apologize. Here are some honorable mentions.
Honorable mentions
Pacific St. Café (301 Lincoln St) is another place I went to as a child, and it’s great. The restaurant is smack dab in the middle of Downtown Roseville, next to Old Town Pizza, and is train-themed on the inside. Great place to go with the family, and good food overall.
Huckleberry’s (10000 Fairway Dr) is also a place to note. It took over an old restaurant called “Pancake House” which broke my heart when they closed. However, this place isn’t half bad. I don’t go often, but when I do, it’s great food overall, like their waffles and breakfast burrito. (Yes, I truly love breakfast burritos.)
I hope this list was helpful, and don’t forget to tip.
