Aftershock Festival line up released

ALEX MULLAN

Just last week, the official lineup for this year’s Aftershock festival was revealed. The Aftershock festival is the biggest metal show in California, held annually and featuring some of the most popular metal bands there are.

Aftershock 2019 will be at Discovery Park in Sacramento. This year’s festival will be extended to three days instead of the normal two that they’ve done the past couple of years, running from

Friday, October 11th to Sunday October 13th.

This year’s lineup presents a few bands that haven’t performed at the festival in years, while others are returning after the year long hiatus. Bands like “Staind” and “Bring Me The Horizon” are coming back after a five and four year gap respectively in between playing at the festival.  With “Bring Me The Horizon” being a band from the UK, you can’t expect to see them playing too often in the United States, let alone California, so take the chance to see them while you can.

On Friday you can expect to see “Slipknot”, “Staind”, “Lamb Of God”, “Beartooth”, and “Motionless In White”. On Saturday the icons “Blink-182” will be playing along with “Rob Zombie”,  “Bring Me The Horizon”, “Marilyn Manson”, “Bad Religion”, and “Ghostemane”. Sunday, the final day is said to hold “Tool”, “Korn”, “Chevelle”, and “Falling In Reverse”. For the festival’s full lineup, see the infographic to the right.

Depending on the person you are, this year is a bit underwhelming, but the past two years have disappointed me. With multiple good bands and artist on everyday of the event, this festival could be one for the books.
