Boys basketball completes first half of season, defeats Ponderosa

NATE LEMOS

Last Friday, the Boys Basketball team narrowly defeated the Ponderosa Bruins by a score of 75-72. Being that the game was played at Ponderosa, this was a huge win for the Tigers. Senior Jase Giorgi discussed the challenges of playing at Ponderosa.

“The crowd at Ponderosa is always really big and really loud, so they definitely played a big role in this game as well.” Giorgi said. “If you ever mess up or make a bad play, they are always doing something to celebrate that.”

Since Ponderosa has a league record of 2-5, this win would seem like a given, however senior guard Blake Beaman knew that this would be a tough game.

“Ponderosa is a team that always plays hard, and also because we were at Pondo, we knew it was going to be a challenge.”

The Tigers will face the Del Campo Cougars this Tuesday.
