Last night, the varsity girls soccer team continued to beat their competition as they stayed undefeated with their 2-1 victory over Oakmont, with both goals coming from junior Mackenzie Gill. Defender Hannah Heaton was satisfied that the team won, but believes the team still could have done better.

“It was good to get another win, but we didn’t play as well as we usually do,” Heaton said. “We were down 1-0 at halftime because of a mistake, but fortunately we were able to come back and score twice in the second half to win.”

Heaton believes the win was really important for the team’s future this year, as she looks  to thrive in league as  well as playoffs.

“The win was really necessary because it’ll put us in a higher seed for playoffs.” Heaton said. “We’ve been doing really well in league so based off of that, hopefully we can win sections and even Nor-Cal’s after that.”

The girls play this Friday against the Del Campo Cougars at home.
