This past Friday night, the varsity boys soccer team defeated Ponderosa 4-1, with 2 goals from Cameron Fletcher, and supplemental goals from Matt Lazowski and Austin Wehner. The Tigers were unable to complete the shutout, as the Bruins scored in the last minute of the game off a corner kick. Senior Ryan Kwong believes the game went well due to the team’s hard efforts.

“We came out really strong, when typically we come out flat,” Kwong said. “We stayed strong the entire game and even though we gave up a goal we didn’t let it impact how we played.”

Kwong believes that despite the team scored 4 goals, the goal that the Bruins scored in the last minute could have been prevented.

“We were doing so well during the game that it was pretty disappointing when we let one in so late in the game,” Kwong said. “We easily could have made it a shutout but we weren’t as prepared as we should’ve been on the corner kick.”

The Tigers hope to keep their first place spot when they play the Oakmont Vikings this Tuesday.
