Peer Helping holds ‘Inside Out’ assemblies

Students in the Peer Helping program were holding the ‘Inside Out’ workshops this last Monday. These workshops are about seeing students for who they are, not how you see them in the halls.

Team building is a large part of the workshop.

“We are doing a lot of team building, and we also do “If you knew me” statements so that people can start to see other students from the inside out.” peer helping adviser Valeria Erb said.

This years workshops marked the ten year anniversary, and Erb wanted to make this one count.

“We wanted to make sure we were connecting to all sophomores, to remind that we are here to support them, also introducing us to the freshman.”

Sophomore Laurel Bane feels that the workshops help other students.

“The assembly is good for people that feel like they can’t reach out to somebody close to them, because this gives them somebody to talk to.”
