The varsity boys volleyball team swept the De La Salle Titans 3-0 last night in the first round of NorCals. The scores of the sets were 25-19, 25-16 and 25-12.

The Tigers dominated in the beginning of the first set and had earned themselves a 12-2 lead at one point. The Titans slowly closed the gap little by little but their efforts weren’t enough to come back fully.

The Tigers led for the vast majority of the second set and won that one as well. Even after two straight set-wins, the boys were down early in the third set. Eventually, they were able to regain the lead after reaching a 7-7 tie early on.

With a tough Saint Francis opposition coming up tomorrow night in the second round, senior middle Neal Reilly feels that although they played well against the Spartans, the boys still have certain aspects of their play that they could improve.

“There’s definitely things we could improve on,” Reilly said. “We started a little slow but we did a good job of getting back to our game. It was a good win.”
