RHS recognized as Gold Ribbon school

RHS and other schools in the RJUHSD district have been recognized as Gold Ribbon schools by the California department of education (CDE).

The CDE recognizes schools that implement “special programs,” according to RHS Principal David Byrd. RHS was honored because of its AP program and push to get students to sign up for AP classes.

“We’ve done some specific work of reaching out to underrepresented students, that historically don’t take advanced placement courses at the same rate so we’ve really wanted to make sure that we cast our net wide to get as many kids as possible to join the program,” Byrd said.
