GAMIN’ WITH GABE: Gabe’s top 3 favorite Zelda games

GABE TOWNSEND

In the spirit of the release of the amazing new zelda game, The legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I found myself wanting to go back and play the older zelda games. Because of this game’s release I’m going to review my top three games from this series.

Starting with my third favorite zelda game, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is an amazing game for the Nintendo 3DS. It follows Link on an adventure to rescue princess Zelda from a sorcerer named Yuga. The game is played in a top-down perspective with the player being able to enter a wall and play the game in a side scroller fashion. This adds something very unique to going through dungeons and figuring them out.

Second in my list is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This game is one of the highest rated games of all time and is beautifully put together. Ocarina of Time is an open world action-adventure game on the Nintendo 64. The story in this game is absolutely fantastic and has you hooked throughout everything. The gameplay is revolved around traveling between two points seven years apart to solve different puzzles around the world. When travel through time you become an older version of link and that allows you to do certain things the younger version of link can’t do.

My absolute favorite and in my opinion the best Zelda game is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Wind waker has a cartoony style graphics with incredibly fun puzzles and dungeons. One mechanic in wind waker is sailing through the great sea. This adds something unique to this game as sailing in link’s boat “The King of Red Lions” is a crucial part of the gameplay. I have endless amounts of fun traveling around the map whether that be land or sea.
