GAMIN’ WITH GABE: ‘Fallout: New Vegas’ adds new aspects to Fallout series with unique map design and player driven fates

GABE TOWNSEND

Fallout: New Vegas is an open world role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and Bethesda Softworks. This is the fourth Fallout game in the series before 2015’s Fallout 4. The series takes place in  a post-apocalyptic world. Each game takes place in different locations around The United States. This game takes place in the Mojave Desert and follows a courier delivering a very important package.

Everything in the Fallout world resembles designs from the ’50s and ’60s. New Vegas captures this extremely well. Everything looks like it comes from the ’50s and ’60s mixed with futuristic type designs. The graphics aren’t very great but for the 18 months that were spent on this game they are pretty good. The gameplay is great in this game. There are constantly things to do that are all different and special in their own way, whether that be one of the many quests or scavenging for that incredibly rare weapon. This is something that Fallout 4 got wrong. Something that I really love about the fallout games as well is that you get to decide the fate of your character. You decide where the character ends up and who they make alliances with.

Fallout: New Vegas has a great open-world, a ton of content with add-ons available to purchase, A very intriguing story, and non stop action. If you’re a fan of RPGs then I highly recommend this incredible game to you.
