On Tuesday the varsity girls soccer team defeated the Del Campo Cougars 2-0 with its two goals coming in the last eight minutes of the game from junior Cami Miller and sophomore Mackenzie Gill. The team is now 5-1-1 in league.

Although the team won, the fact that it took 72 minutes for the girls to score was a bit concerning for head coach Paul Stewart.

“It scares me,” Stewart said. “Soccer is such a funny game that on any given night there’s gonna be a lid on that goal. And for 72 minutes we took all the shots we could and none of them fell. They didn’t test out goalie but man I was hoping that we could just pound them.”

The girls’ next game is at Cosumnes Oaks High School who is 3-2-2.
