PRESTON WALTER

Last Thursday, 20th Century Fox dropped its first trailer for the last Wolverine movie titled Logan. The trailer gave us a short laydown of what we can expect to see from the movie. With Patrick Stewart back playing an aging and losing his memory Charles Xavier and Hugh Jackman back for his last outing as Wolverine who is losing his healing factor. This movie is supposed to take place in the future with Wolverine who like he is one of the last mutants left. He is supposed to protect a new mutant that has abilities similar to him from being captured.

The whole look and feel from the trailer shows this movie is way different than the previous two installments in the Wolverine movie franchise. With a barren desert environment and Wolverine even changing up his look, they really show you they aren’t gonna be messing around with this movie especially since it is supposed to be rated R.

Although, nothing in the normal trailer shows anything that seems to have rated R things which is strange but in the International trailer there is a clip of Wolverine’s claws going through a guy’s skull. This trailer definitely gave fans something to be excited for as it’s a different look for an X-Men story and it will be cool to see how they use the R rating. I am gonna make a prediction and say that Logan could see the death of Charles Xavier and even Wolverine himself but we won’t know until March 2017.

The other trailer that dropped last week was for Guardians of the Galaxy Volume Two.  This isn’t quite a full trailer as it didn’t reveal much of the story but just kind of a sneak peek for what we can expect as director James Gunn is the one who tweeted out the trailer. The trailer did introduce  new members to the Guardians of the Galaxy including Nebula, Yondu and Mantis. It also failed to not make me smile because as soon as it started the popular “Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Suede came on and I instantly became excited.

We can definitely tell that Marvel and James Gunn are trying to keep the same fun they had in making the first movie. Plus the ending of this trailer was awesome with Rocket blowing a hole in the wall with his gun and we get to see a baby version of Groot, who is absolutely adorable.

Last week we can tell that Marvel is really bringing their A game with comic book movies coming out next year and this just gives us a taste of for what’s in store in the future of the comic book universe for movies.
