Varsity girls tennis start league with win against Del Campo

Yesterday, the varsity girls tennis team beat Del Campo in their 1st league match of the season, winning 8-1 in matches.

Senior varsity player Hailey Jensen, felt the margin of victory was large because of their strong doubles lineup and their improving offensive team.

“We have a solid doubles lineup so they help pull the team through as a collective,” Jensen said. “ Our team has really gotten down the offense rather than just being defensive players.”

Compared to previous years, Jensen believes the team is more involved, saying they “are out there to win more” and that this year’s team is more competitive.

Building on their early wins, Jensen believes they can become more confident as a team and learn to move the ball around the court more.

The Varsity team’s next match is Thursday, Sept. 8 against Cosumnes Oak, and Jensen has high hopes of winning and continuing their streak the whole season.
