On Friday the varsity football team traveled to Rio Linda and defeated the Knights 42-23. The win advanced the Tigers to 2-0 in preseason play.

Senior running back Brendan McMinn led the way for the Tigers, scoring three touchdowns on the ground. McMinn credits his success to the work of the offensive line.

“I think our guys up front did a really good job,” McMinn said. “They opened up holes so that the running backs could do our thing.”

McMinn thinks that going forward the Tigers need to maintain their in-game focus and intensity levels.

“I think we need to have better focus throughout the game and raise our intensity during the course of the game,” McMinn said. “If we clean those things up we should be good going into league play.”

The Tigers will hit the road again this Friday to take on the River Valley Falcons.
