With DreamWorks legendary movie, “Puss in Boots” making its release in 2011, now a third gem of this comedic movie series, “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” has made its recent release on December 21, 2022, during the holiday season.

This film is filled with action and suspense as the cast of Puss in Boots is on a mission to obtain the world’s powerful last wish. This wish gives the beholder the power to obtain anything that they may wish for, even things that may seem impossible to gain in real life circumstances.

Although their team consists of iconic characters such as Puss in Boots, Kitty Softpaws, and a new addition to their team, Perrito, they still face many different challenges that will even frighten the fearless gato, Puss in Boots. Even though this film is mainly targeted towards children that are within a TV-PG rating, this movie is very enjoyable to watch to any age group that may be interested in a good chuckle. A laugh is guaranteed from the viewer, and maybe even a tear, as the film contains very heartwarming and touching moments that impact the mood of the audience. 

Every type of feeling filled the theater except boredom as the main character kept the audience entertained with his ego-filled yet funny persona. With just a jist of sarcasm, Puss in Boots kept the viewer hooked on him and his fearless-spunky squad. The relationship dynamic between the three main characters, Puss in Boots, Kitty Soft Paws, and Perrito added comedic relief to the movie. 

Although the bond between the three main characters grows throughout the movie, Kitty Softpaws and Puss in Boots are actively competing against each other whilst being on the same team to obtain that wish. They don’t only have each other to worry about but as well as other iconic characters such as Goldie Locks and the Three Bears. 

From animation to cinematography, this new film has earned its newly profound title as one of the best animated films of 2022. Many film enthusiasts were in a heated debate between “Puss in Boots: Last Wish” and “Avatar: The Way of Water”, saying Avatar was better. Although audience members believe one is over the other, in reality, both projects are great in their own unique way, yet it still doesn’t change the fact that Puss in Boots beat Avatar in significant ways. 

Although Avatar added over 1 Billion dollars to the economy of film, Puss in Boots did extremely well within only two weekends of its release. Box Office sales for these two films were through the roof as they took the world of entertainment by storm. Both of these excellent projects have received an immense amount of support and recognition from their audience members, as the viewers continue to view the films in theaters.

Puss in Boots: The Last wish has added another great bang to this ongoing movie franchise. Although the original Puss in Boots is by far the best movie of this three-part animation series, this film made a great addition to DreamWorks Animation. With such a nostalgic film, this definitely deserves the hype that it’s been receiving and deserves to be recognized. This was a great way to end 2022 since this is by far one of the best animated films of the year and builds suspense for other projects that could be produced in the future.
