The Junction Bowl preview

October 28, 2022

The big game, the big rivals, the most anticipated and looked forward to the game throughout the Roseville and Woodcreek seasons. And it’s the last one of the regular season. And it’s possibly the last game of Woodcreek’s season. It’s the Junction Bowl.

Roseville clinched playoffs by taking down Inderkum High School last Friday by a winning score of 33-31. Joel Bradley kicked the winning field goal in the 4th quarter. The team played great and got the well deserved win. It is said if Roseville wins this game they knock any chances of Woodcreek making the playoffs.

Unfortunately Roseville lost their best run stopper in the first quarter of the Inderkum game in Jaden Keirsey. Keirsey is a top 5 athlete of the fall season and impacts the team a tremendous amount. It is unlikely he will be able to play in this game but hopefully he has a speedy recovery throughout the week and be able to play his last game and his senior night.

Woodcreek is a power running team that relies heavily on their running backs. They only have 2 total receiving touchdowns while having 26 rushing touchdowns. They have 4 guys with over 150 rushing. They have to limit the number one runner on their team Hakeem Anderson. With Roseville’s number one run defender out, it’s gonna be a challenge to limit Woodcreek’s powerful run game. But if they do that, their passing game will not be strong enough to take the Tigers down.

This should be a very intense and close game. If Graydon, Belton, and O’Neal keep playing great on offense and the defense shuts down Woodcreek’s dominant running game and limit them to their passing then Roseville should be in the clear to win this football game and knock Woodcreek out of playoffs. This game could also dictate if Roseville gets a home or away playoff game.
