The Next Binge-Worthy Thriller

BRODIE BUCHER

Netflix has released its new original directed by Ryan Murphy called Ratched, and I’m happy to say that it looks promising. Based on characters from the 1962 novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, written by Ken Kesey, and a prequel to the “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” film from 1975.

The new drama/thriller is set in the 1940s at a mental health institution.  With American Horror Story’s Sarah Paulson staring the main role as nurse Ratched and other amazing actors like Cynthia Nixon as Gwendolyn Briggs, Judy Davis as Nurse Betsy Bucket, Sharon Stone as Lenore Osgood, Corey Stoll as Charles Wainwright, and Finn Wittrock as Edmund Tolleson, this series is set to impress.

The trailer gives total American Horror Story: Asylum vibes with the old asylum, inhumane nurses, and innocent mad patients who were sucked into the horrid health care system from back in the day.

Overall, this new Netflix series has serious potential I being the next big show everyone will binge. I’m excited to start this series and have high standards. Don’t worry if you have already finished it because Netflix has already announced a second season in the works.
