#1 – Ethan Bandy

Coming in at the number one spot for the top 9 winter athletes is varsity wrestler Ethan Bandy.

Bandy has finished first in league for the past three years.

Bandy finished fifth in the CIF Section Masters, qualifying him for the state tournament in the 195 weight class this past weekend where he competed with teammate Josh Provins.

At the state tournament, Bandy won his first match against the fifteen seed wrestler, Mason Garcia. Bandy then lost in the following round.

Earlier in the season, Bandy finished eighth in the 2019 Sierra Nevada Classic.

Throughout the season, Bandy had a record of 38 wins with just 12 losses with 27 pins.

The senior is now a three time CVC champion, a two time team captain and lead the team in 112 career wins.

Bandy has wrestled varsity all four years of high school and continuously put in work through the off season in order to maintain his total domination over high school wrestling.

Bandy has continuously surprised the people around him with his wrestling and head turning performances this season.

“He’s an excellent wrestler, never gave up and it clearly shows with his record,” said coach Doug Ash. “He is one of the hardest workers I’ve seen and he has a bright future.”
Ash believes in his wrestling lineup to be the best in a long time.

“We got a very strong lineup this year from top to bottom, obviously, Ethan Brandy who is a returning masters qualifier probably a top one on our team,” Ash said.
