The RHS student government held its biannual blood drive as a way to give back. Over 80 members of the RHS community gave blood of the 120 that signed up.

“We like to hold the blood drive every year just so we can give back to our community and help save lives that we don’t even know we could help,” junior student government member Martina Areddain said.

Senior Ethan Cunningham donated blood for the first time.

“It’s something that all schools should do,” Cunningham said. “Because if we even just get some donations, it will add up.”

Student government senior Finn McAnlis manned the blood drive table and said he enjoyed speaking with students donating for the first time.

“A lot of people that we talk to to get sign ups don’t even think about giving blood until we say something to them,” McAnlis said. “It’s really good to start people on giving blood, because you can do it for the rest of your life.”
