BRIEF: ALA selects junior Amber Handling as Girls State delegate

STAFF REPORT

The American Legion Auxiliary selected junior Amber Handling to represent Roseville High School at this year’s girls state conference at Claremont McKenna college.

Handling will participate in a week long summer program where over 500 schools around California send one student representative to form a mock government.

“I’m really proud of all of the other girls who were a part of the process with me,” Handling said. “I’m really excited to get to go to Southern California and meet so many different girls and learn about the government.”

Juniors Natalie Ang and Thuey Nguyen will serve as Handling’s first and second alternates respectively.

Boys State nominations will be released next month.
