Last Friday, the varsity football team took on the River Valley Falcons in a long and hard fought game, where roseville came out on top 32-31.

Senior quarterback Cooper Thompson, had an outstanding game leading the Tigers offense. Thompson threw for a total 221 yards and had a total of three throwing touchdowns. Tanner Rubey had a rushing touchdown and junior kicker Devon Harriman, had two field goals made and one extra point made. Joe Brijs had 78 yards rushing, and Jackson Shedd had an interception to end the game late in the fourth quarter.

On the last offensive drive, the Tigers scored putting them up by a touchdown. The Falcons tried to fight back and score but ended up throwing an interception finish out regulation on the clock.

Brijs was excited about the outcome of the game and how hard they fought to come back.

“We need to come out stronger and stay at the same pace all game. We had some big and key plays that could have changed the outcome of the game,” Brijs said. “We have a lot of stuff that we need to work on still, but we just need to keep working everyday and get better.”

Friday was the first game on their non-home game stand. The Tigers improved their league record to 3-0 and overall record to 5-2. The tigers take on the Yuba City Honkers next friday, after their bye week this week.
