Last Friday night, the Roseville Tigers took on the defending division 5AA state champions, the Rio Linda Raiders. The Tigers came out early and ended up scoring first with Rio Linda scoring shortly after, with the score going back and forth till it was 21-21. The Tigers fell during overtime after getting stopped on fourth and one, inside the five yard line. Rio Linda’s running back, Cameron Skattebo scored for them on the first play of overtime.

Senior Tyler Rohwer, on the third play of the game was injured, he was carried off the field on a stretcher and was taken to the ER. He suffered a torn ligament in his ankle and will have to undergo surgery.

Joe Brijs had all three of Roseville’s touchdowns and brought the same energy and intensity from the last game where he had three touchdowns also.

Junior Jo Brijs, was upset about the outcome of the game, and knows they have stuff to work on.

“We came out strong and scored super early we had the league, or at least was never down until OT,” Brijs said. “We ended up falling in OT and couldn’t come back, it was a heartbreaking loss, but we have a lot of stuff that we need to work on still though.”

The Tigers will take on the Woodcreek Timberwolves this Friday at Roseville. The Timberwolves are the Tigers in-league rival, the Tiger’s Fell to the Timberwolves last season, and hope to improve their record versus the Timberwolves this season.
