Roseville Tigers shut out Bear Creek HS in first home game of the season

Last Friday night, the Roseville Tigers took on the Bear Creek Bruins in the first game of the season. The Tiger’s came out on top with a blowout score of 35-0. The Tigers had a strong offensive and a powerful defense all game. 

Senior Tommy Spencer, started it off with a one handed catch, coming from Senior Cooper Thompson, in the back of the endzone for the first touchdown of the game. Aaron Shima had a big first game having a total of three touchdowns, and Malik Bowman ended the night strong with his first rushing touchdown of the season to push the score to 35. 

On defense there was a forced fumble by Tyler Rohwer, and Tanner Rubey kept the energy up all game with an explosive block on a field goal attempt to preserve the shutout.

Senior Tyler Rohwer, was excited about the outcome of the first game and has high hopes for the rest of the season.

“We started out really strong putting points up super early and we kept up the energy the entire game. We had some big and key plays that could have changed the outcome of the game,” Rohwer said. “We have a lot of stuff that we need to work on still, but we just need to keep working everyday and get better.”

The Tigers will take on the Oakmont Vikings this Friday night, at Oakmont. The Vikings are the Tigers out-of-league rival, the Tigers beat the Vikings last season, and hope to improve their record versus the Vikings.
