Game of Thrones wraps up, struggles pleasing all fans

Ten years, seventy one episodes, two days, fifteen hours, and thirty minutes of watchtime, five hundred and sixty million dollars made, and over twenty million devoted fans later, HBO’s most popular television series Game of Thrones has come to an end.

The latest season of Game of Thrones was one of, if not the most, controversial seasons ever aired. Millions of fans were displeased with the direction that the show’s final episodes took; however, it is close to impossible to please all viewers, especially when many had a specific vision they wanted the writers to follow.

The Game of Thrones production team was walking on eggshells in an attempt to please viewers while making difficult decisions in wrapping up the series. The writers of Game of Thrones did a phenomenal job in tying up all of the loose ends of the plot.

Every important character’s story arc was completed in this fulfilling finale. As a huge fan of the show myself, I will miss my fix of Game of Thrones, but I was left completely satisfied with where the series ended.

For many of the original fans, the thought of living the rest of their lives without anymore episodes is a devastating thought; however, it’s one that doesn’t harbor any reality.

Within the next couple of years George R.R. Martin himself will be producing several pilots for prequels to Game of Thrones, and running with the best rated pilot. So fans won’t be without the magic and fantasy of Essos, Westeros, and Sothoryos for a long period of time.

Though fans were distraught to experience the farewells of their favorite characters, all great things must come to an end.
