Trailer drops for Game of Thrones Season 8

Early Tuesday morning HBO dropped a trailer for the highly anticipated Game of Thrones season 8, arguably one of the best shows of all time, and the hype is definitely felt for the final season of the show. With the final season dropping April 14, this first trailer was past due, and I absolutely freaked out when it dropped. With nothing but set pictures and promo images this was the first real look in to what this season will look like.

As the show has progressed, the tone and feel has evolved like in most long running shows and movie franchises. The trailer makes it clear that this season will stand out among the rest. With almost 2 years of development and the studios steep budget, it is safe to say this will be one of the most quality seasons of any TV show ever. The real mystery is: will this be a satisfying ending to this long running show?

It reminds me of how the Harry Potter evolved from a heartwarming, silly kids series to a dark gritty drama by the end, and while Game of the Thrones has always explored darker tones, this season seems to reach a new level with higher stakes.

It would be disappointing if this season left out major character deaths and surprising betrayals like audiences have come to expect. As time has passed in the Game of Thrones world, the ever expanding cast has slowly whittled down to only the most important main characters, ensuring that every death from now on will have a huge impact on the story and audience.

If you were hoping to get any hints of who will end up on the Iron Throne before the season premieres, you’ll be left disappointed, because as usual, fans will know absolutely nothing until the season premieres April 14.
