New superintendent establishes Student Advisory Committee

RJUHSD plans to add a student advisory committee for the superintendent. New superintendent Denise Herrmann plans to implement the committee to add more student input to district proceedings.

“You’re the students we’re trying to serve, so I also need to hear from you and be able to communicate what you think your needs are and what you’re satisfied with and not satisfied with in terms of the services we’re providing,” Herrmann said.

The committee will meet with Herrmann four times a year to discuss district proceedings and campus issues. She hopes the students will bring their concerns to the table as well.

“I will be bringing issues or questions to the students and asking for feedback, and I would be expecting the students to do some of the same things,” Herrmann said.

Applications for the committee are due by September 14.
