Last Friday the varsity football team defeated the Bear Creek Bruins 52-46 in a non-league match at Bear Creek High School, progressing their record to 1-0.Despite the team being down at the end of the first half, senior Ben Baker was proud of the team for coming back.

“As a team we fought throughout the whole game even after the fact of an opening kickoff return, it didn’t stop any of us from quitting at all,” Baker said. “Everyone stepped up and contributed well to the team, and we fought well and in the long run it showed by paying us off with a win.”

Prior to the game, the JV team beat the bruins 43-0, and the freshman team won with a score of 42-0, putting both teams records at 1. All three levels play Oakmont this week.
