Over the weekend, the varsity boys volleyball team competed in the Bellarmine Invitational tournament, as well as a league match against the Oakmont Vikings. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the team lost four matches and won two matches in the invitational on Friday and Saturday, thus ending their undefeated streak. They suffered from losses to Arroyo Grande, Mt. Madonna, Palo Verde and Sanger. After a day of recovery, the team came back on Monday and defeated Oakmont 3-0. Junior Miles Judd was disappointed with the team’s lack of success, but was proud that the team didn’t let it affect their play in the league game.

“The invitational was stacked with some of the best teams in the state and we knew it would be difficult, but it would have been nice to have done better,” Judd said. “I’m glad we came back on Monday and still maintained our undefeated streak in league.”

As for the JV boys volleyball team, the tigers finished first in the Granite Bay JV Invitational, only dropping one set to Granite Bay the entire tournament. Like varsity, the team also came out victorious against the Vikings, winning 2-0.

Both JV and varsity compete next in a non-league match against Nevada Union tomorrow.
