Last Friday, student government adviser Brent Mattix announced the junior prom court nominations. Royalty includes Garrett Smith, Tanner Beasom, Johnny Drinkwater, Tristan George and John Wallasch representing the boys; and Alyssa Esply, Madi Law, Maya Tooker, Brittany Call and Paige Jacobson representing the girls.

However, with CAASPP Testing affecting junior classes’ schedule this week, the Junior Prom Rally will be held Friday during lunch in the outdoor amphitheater, compared to past years’ tradition of holding it in the Patti Baker Theater.

According to junior class officer Emily Nunez, though CAASPP Testing disrupts student government’s plans, the usual festivities will be modified to fit the schedule.

“It’s definitely frustrating,” Nunez said. “We won’t be able to do a slideshow like we normally do so we’re probably just going to have [nominees] walk out with music.”

Due to the new schedule, nominees that test in the morning will walk last so they may change for the rally.
