Yesterday, the varsity girls softball team lost to the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack in a high scoring game, 21-19. This moved the Tigers’ record to 8-5-1 on the season, but a struggling league record of 1-3. The tigers made playoffs last year with a league record of 10-4, meaning the girls will have to win out to improve on last years’ regular season. With high hopes going into the season, Senior Maddie Amos feels the need for the team to pick it up this year in order to improve on last season.

“We as a team have a lot of potential, and we’re easily capable of being a front runner in league. It’s disappointing to have a league record of 1-3 when I know how much better than that,” Amos said.

Amos also reflects on the tough competitive loss yesterday, but hopes the team can forget about the game and move on.

“The best thing to do is forget about yesterday. Although it hurts to put up 19 runs and still lose, we have to forget about it,” Amos said,

If not rained out, the girls softball team will play today at home against the Ponderosa Bruins.
