Last night, the freshman, JV, and varsity boys baseball team competed against the Del Campo Cougars in the first league game of the season. Both JV and Varsity fell to the cougars, varsity to a score of 8-1 and JV 4-3. The freshman team came out victorious, winning 7-3. Last year, the Cougars finished third in the section, and are now ranked 7 in the Division II standings. Varsity left fielder Joe Cirrincione believes the loss was disappointing, but it shows where the team can improve.

“Del Campo was a really strong team and we knew that going in,” Cirrincione said. “But after last night we all know that if we just continue working hard, we can one day keep up with teams like Del Campo.”

The Tigers next play this upcoming Tuesday, where they will face off against the Bella Vista Broncos.
