The varsity volleyball team fell to the Pleasant Valley Vikings in their second non-conference match of the year with scores of 25-22, 26-24 and 25-23.
The team lost in a similar fashion in their previous game, losing in three sets against the Saint Francis Troubadours.
Junior hitter Sydney Richardson believes that the team played down to the level of Pleasant Valley and not to their normal potential. Richardson mentioned that the Tigers led for the majority of the game but fell apart in crucial point.
While it is still the beginning of the season, Richardson felt that the team did not play to their best ability.
“I think we are still getting comfortable playing with each other,” Richardson said. “We were not as organized as we usually are and we did not talk as much as we usually do.”
Richardson had hoped for a win against the Vikings but still has high expectations for the season. She hopes the team will be able to make it to playoffs but feels that they need better cohesion in order do so.
The Tigers play their next game against the Placer Hillmen and Richardson hopes for their first win in the preseason.
