Last night, The Boys Varsity Basketball team lost in the first round of the SJS Division Two playoffs to the Burbank Titans by a score of 64-62. This loss was a tough one to take, as the Tigers held the lead for most of the night, and lost it late to a shooting barrage from the Titans. This loss hurt especially for the seniors, as this was their last time playing in the Moeller Gym in front of the Roseville crowd. Senior Blake Beaman discussed the disappointing loss.
“It was really hard to watch them celebrate on our court after we lost,” Beaman said “We had a pretty good chance to advance further, which is disappointing.”
A problem that the Tigers faced last night was the 2-3 zone of the Titans. The Tigers have had problems all year against a zone defense, and last night, that weakness was exploited. Roseville failed to fall into an offensive rhythm all night, which greatly lowered their shooting percentage and amount of open looks that they encountered. However this game is not a marker of the boys season, as they played great all year, and were a force to be reckoned with in the CVC.
