The varsity boys volleyball team remained undefeated after its sweep of the second-place Whitney Wildcats last Wednesday and it also clinched them the Capital Valley Conference league title. In addition, the sweep means that the Tigers still have yet to drop a set in league play.

The win moved them to 12-0 in league and 29-7 overall. Senior setter and defensive specialist Teven Painter was happy to help the Tigers earn a solo league title in his first season on the team. The Tigers have been co-league champions alongside the Wildcats for the past two years running.

“It feels great,” Painter said. “I know they’ve been co-CVC champs, so it’s nice to finally be the only CVC champs,” Painter said.

The Tigers’ next game, their Senior Night, will be next Monday in Moeller Gym where they will face off against the Ponderosa Bruins.
