Last Friday, the boys tennis team lost 8-1 against the Whitney Wildcats and dropped to third place in the Capital Valley Conference, falling just short of a playoff spot.

The Wildcats are in first place in the CVC and are one place ahead of the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack. Both teams edged out the Tigers, who finished league play with a 9-5 record, for a spot in the postseason.

Senior doubles player Braden Triplett said that Whitney came out much harder than the Tigers did. He is saddened by the loss as he feels that the boys could have done well in the playoffs.

“It’s a bummer we’re not in playoffs anymore,” Triplett said. “We were a super good team that could’ve made it far.”

Even though the Tigers didn’t make playoffs, this season marks the best one in decades and Triplett said that he and the boys are proud of their accomplishments.
