The RHS Academic Decathlon team went to a state-level competition this weekend. Senior Marc Chappelle was awarded gold during the Interview portion of the competition with a score of nine-hundred and eighty out of a thousand.

“We already kinda knew it because it went from, bronze to silver to gold, and his name hadn’t been called yet. So, we knew he had won gold. And everyone was jumping in their seats and we were like, ‘Marc won gold. Marc won the gold, ‘That’s so amazing’,” sophomore Decathlete Kaitlyn Ang said.

With their performance, the team improved their ranking from seventeenth to thirteenth in California’s third division.
