The varsity girls soccer team gave up a 1-0 lead to the Bella Vista Broncos in their 2-1 defeat last night. The Tigers started out hot and caught the Broncos off-guard, scoring their first goal within the first three minutes of the game to take an early 1-0 lead.

The score remained 1-0 at halftime and neither team scored for the majority of the second half. With ten minutes to go in the game, the Broncos managed to put the ball in the Tigers’ net after a free kick found the foot of one of their forwards who put it in the goal.

The Broncos later sealed the win with another goal at the two-minute mark to hand the Tigers their second loss of the league season. The Tigers sit in second place in the Capital Valley Conference with a 6-2-2 record and only trail the 9-2 Whitney Wildcats, who they play next Tuesday at Whitney High School.
