The varsity girls soccer team played its fourth home game of the season, and so far the girls have proven that Hanson Field is a tough place to play against the Tigers. Despite tying the Whitney Wildcats on Jan. 5, the girls are undefeated at home.

That trend continued yesterday with their 1-0 victory over the Oakmont Vikings. Sophomore forward Mackenzie Gill was the only goal scorer for the game.

Senior Jessica VanDerHaegen feels that the team played well but that there were components of their game that they could have done better.

“I think that we played pretty well, we just didn’t capitalize on our opportunities,” VanDerHaegen said. “We missed a lot of shots that should have been goals.”

With the win yesterday, the RHS varsity girls soccer team’s record improved to 7-2-1 on the year and 4-1-1 in league.  The girls next game is January 24th at home against the Del Campo Cougars.
