The girls varsity volleyball team upset the Whitney Wildcats last night, beating the previously undefeated team 3-1. The girls won the first set 25-22, lost the second 25-15 and won the third and fourth 25-15 and 25-18, respectively.

Junior setter Jessie Donahue felt their win was a huge accomplishment as the Wildcats are in first place and were previously undefeated.

“All of us really wanted to beat them so we went in really nervous,” Donahue said. “But after the first set, we were like, oh, we can definitely do this.”

Donahue feels the team can continue to improve by playing as a team and not as individuals in order to finish their season off strong and make it into playoffs.

Their postseason dreams depend on their upcoming game against the Ponderosa Bruins who sit underneath them as they are tied for third place below Roseville and Cosumnes Oaks.
